Ladies Aitchison Triples – Gents Farquhar Triples w/c Monday 1st May 2017
Another busy week of competitive bowling at the club, both the Ladies and Gents sections both took to the greens on to play in different Triples competitions.
The Gents played for the Farquhar Triples Cup on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday in a round robin format with each of the team’s playing against each other over 11 end games. When all the games were played there were two teams equal on 4 points, they were the triple of Tony Bird, Luke Healy and Iain Macleod (Skip) as well as the triple of and Ed Claisse, George Tait and Joe Cameron (Skip) who ironically faced each other in the final game with Joe Cameron’s triple coming out on top by 15 shots to 7. In the end the margin of victory by the Joe Cameron Triple in this game was not quite enough as when shots were taken into account the Triple of Tony Bird, Luke Healy and Iain Macleod (Skip) were the winners on +11 shots against the +7 shots of the Runners Up Ed Claisse, George Tait and Joe Cameron (Skip) triple.

The Ladies played out their Aitchison Trophy pn Sunday 7th May in a Triples format in one of the best days of weather to date. The Competition was played on a round robin basis each team playing each over 5 ends in a total of 5 games for each team. The competition ran to the final game before a winner was certain and the result then was decided with the Runners up being Rosemary Robertson. Barbara Robertson and Jill Dacombe( Skip) who after a poor start rallied to finish on 6 points with the clear winners of the trophy, having lost only one game by the odd shot finished on 8 points Pat Donald. Jenifer Jones and Wilma Hannah, the current Ladies Champion (Skip)
